Embrace Arts Coaching

Coaching is a natural path I’ve taken given my years dedicated to helping others achieve what seemed, to them, impossible. I am dedicated to a coaching style conducive to the well-being of the artist that focuses on the tenets of challenge, honesty, risk, and self-care.

Some practices in the industry are down-right abusive by refusing to acknowledge the artist as human (and as an individual). I’ve created a standard of “safe creation” and want to dissemble the notion that the safe means “ordinary” or “without risk”. My philosophy is that of skydiving.

I encourage you to be bold and adventurous just like someone jumping from a plane, but, always, your protection is priority. I strive to equip you with an artistic parachute to stay safe and secure as you work, by acknowledging your absolute limits, channeling your inner truth, and challenging the soft limits we impose on ourselves.

I offer several types of coaching sessions:

Monologue/Scene

Whether you need help with a college audition monologue, a general audition, a class piece, or something entirely different, I am here to help you progress to the next level. We will break it down step by step, and, if necessary, revise the notion of what it means to “perform” a monologue or be a “great” scene partner.

Crafting Artistry

Who are you and what do you want to say? The greatest tool an artist possesses is knowing who they are. We will discover your unique artistic voice and signature by utilizing an artistic playground meant to challenge, grow, and ground you.

Introduction to Acting

One of your most beautiful, joyous memories will be the day you started to do this “theatre thing”. Anyone can be an actor, but not everyone can be YOU. We will dive into what it means to “act”, the history of acting (briefly), and how you can apply the skills you learn (memorization, script analysis, and fun) in your daily life.

I offer two distinct sessions: “Acting for Fun” and “Acting for Fun Too: Teach me the Business” for those who are interested in learning more about the theatre industry and how they may fit in.

Kids’ Coaching

The world’s greatest prize in a small package: kids. If you’d like to give your child a fantastic outlet for creativity, fun, and self-confidence, acting lessons are a great way to help them discover themselves, spend productive energy, and build invaluable skills they will undoubtedly carry with them the rest of their lives. Kids naturally have the two things most adult actors struggle with: imagination and risk-taking. Together, we will explore the fun, the brave, and the art of acting.
